Baboy Na Hipon

Mom Request a dish she grew up eating and she has also cooked in the states. Its Basically Pork(Usually Pork Feet) with Hipon(Shrimp Paste). My Uncle also likes to eat and cook this dish, however, this dish is not for those who have high blood pressure. Don’t Eat this everyday :-)


1 Kilo Pork Pata Slices or Pork Feet

1/4 Kilo or Less Hipon

1 Onion, Chopped

4 Garlic Cloves, Peeled and Diced

2 Bay Leafs (Optional)

2 Banana Peppers

Water Enough to Cover Meat


  1. Clean and Slice Pork Slices
  2. In Stock Pot Fry Onion and Garlic till Fragrant
  3. Add Pork and Brown
  4. Add Water and Bay Leaf
  5. Simmer till Tender
  6. Add Pepper and Hipon, When adding hipon do a little a time and taste every time you add to your liking . If too salty you can add sugar or vinegar
  7. Bring Back to boil
  8. Sever with Steam Rice
